The Packers canceled their normal player availability to the news media Monday

The Packers canceled their normal player availability to the news media Monday, though several players posted Twitter messages about the situation.

"Tell someone you love them asap, you never know what tomorrow brings," offensive tackle Marshall Newhouse wrote.

Nose tackle B. J. Raji wrote, "Life is too short ... Live in the present."

Left guard T. J. Lang, whose father died last Thursday, wrote, "As children we all have to someday say goodbye to our parents, but a parent should never have to say goodbye to their child."

It was unclear what Joe Philbin's status would be for Sunday's game against the Giants. Philbin joined the Packers in 2003 and has been the offensive coordinator since 2007. In each season since he became coordinator, Green Bay has ranked in the top 10 in the league in scoring and total yards. The Packers' 560 points this season were the second-most in N.F.L. history. Green Bay also set franchise records for net passing yards (4,924) and total yards (6,482). Last week, he interviewed for head coaching jobs with the Miami Dolphins and the Kansas City Chiefs.
